Excellent Purchase March 3, 2010 Andie My 2yr old loves this puzzle even though its a little easy for him. I know eventually I will be able to use it to help him tell time. Very durable considering that my 1yr old has sucked on the pieces a few times and the pieces still look great. Helpful with learning his numbers as well. It was well worth the money. Very Excellent Buy!
Great Learning Tool with The Grouchy Ladybug Book February 22, 2010 T. Sanborn My 4 year old son loves playing with this clock (we received it as a gift). We recently bought the book, "The Grouchy Ladybug" by Eric Carle and it goes so perfectly with this clock since he loves to move the hour and minute hands along with the story. He also likes playing with shapes and lining them up in numerical order. I like that there are some advanced shapes (quatrefoil, parallelogram, and trapezoid). They must have fixed the error with the 5 and 6 because I don't notice anything with our clock. Overall, another great Melissa and Doug item!
Love Melissa & Doug February 5, 2010 D. Walawender 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have purchased several Melissa & Doug items and they are always high quality, durable and entertaining for the young ones with the bright colors, shapes, etc. My grandson loves it and at 2 1/2 knows all of the numbers except 7 & 9. He also knows 8 of the 12 shapes. This clock is very educational.
very durable, old-world feel January 31, 2010 Samaria (Israel) Call me crazy - I love things that feel like I might get to hand down to my grandchildren (my daughter is currently 2 years old ;-)) I so miss the days when things were made to last - that's one of the things I love most about this clock.
While there are a lot of pieces, they are constructed well, and are great for a 2 year old who is learning about shapes - you will be so gratified as she gets better and faster at placing the shapes and counting. I think it will continue to be a useful toy for years, as she learns the names of complex shapes and even learns to tell time.
Definitely worth it.
Excellent toy~ January 28, 2010 scribe The ONE negative I have about M and D toys, and this one, is that they are made by hand and that, when you lose a piece/part, you are sunk.
My twin sons lost ONE of the pieces in the original shape sorter clock that I bought a while ago. They love it. I felt it was essential to purchase another one though.
This toy is a teaching toy in many ways. Colors, shapes, telling time, teaching numbers... All in a very unique way, as all M and D items are. It is totally worth the money. My sons can say "octagon" and "puzzle" because of this and their other M and D toys! At the age of 22 mos, and since they are twins, and boys, that is quite an accomplishment...
